Vans Rowley XL2's - by Iain Rowe

They've gone off again. The Geoff Rowley XL2 brings us the best of Vans. These shoes are as light as running shoes. The tongues are strapped in to ensure your feet don't become part of the battlefield. There is double stitching where you need it. Durable as ever. Of course, they have the signature checkerboard soles for ultimate durability.

Styling is subtle but pimp. I fear messing them up cuz they're good enough to go out on a date in. They are feather light, size runs true, and they are completely affordable too, especially for a signature shoe.

Skateboarding is a pleasure with the XL2. Flip tricks come with a flick. Big airs come at random from such light feet. I find that my feet can feel the contour of the board just the same way as my old skool "off the walls" without the bind of the ankle and no added weight. Riding ramps and concrete parks becomes so much easier because there is the free movement of the ankle.

But wait, there's more—they're apparently vegan too, as only Rowley would have it. You can even nibble on the sidewalls or even the tongue when you're desperate. Don't worry, it's nothing like lamb's tongue. So don't forget to bring the salt and pepper for that sidewalk skilleting.
